3 Cool Markets in Adelaide's North

Adelaide's north has markets where you can not only find second hand treasures but sometimes some food bargains as well. Most markets are free entry and the products vary season to season and even week to week. Here is a quick guide to a few of our favourite markets in the north.

Parafield Market (Wednesday and Saturday mornings 8am-1pm).

You can find this one on the eastern side of the airport, enter from Kings Rd. This market is good for seasonal fruit and vegetables for good prices. There is also a couple of plant stalls, some places to get coffee and hot food, a pet food stall and other local products.

One Tree Hill Market (First Saturday of every month 8am-1pm).

One Tree Hill is a short ten minute drive from Elizabeth and right at the start of the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Inside the town hall you will find a heap of locally made products (we recommend Val's sauces and chutneys), outside you will find fresh bread, a sausage sizzle and sometimes some friendly cows. While inside don't forget to head to the corner for the fresh Russian baked treats, we suggest just follow your nose.

Gawler Market (every Sunday except Easter, Christmas and New Year 8am-1pm).

Gawler market is easy to get to from the train station and you can have a nice long stroll down through the car park and back if you want some antiques, rare gems and stones, specialty carving shops, second hand goods and gardening stuff. You can find cheap seedlings, bulbs and seeds for your garden here.

You can find markets in a lot of different places, just make sure you check times and locations before you go. This site can help you find the markets you need or keep your eye out on social media and internet ad boards. If you are driving around the streets of Adelaide don't forget to keep your eye out for the 'Garage Sale' signs where you can sometimes find some treasure.
